Mischief Monday-“Officer! Arrest that Sheltie!!”

Hi and happy Monday all! It’s Dakota!

Well  my mischief for today began last week when Mom and Dad took me for a walk in the park.  Allow me to back up a few paws if you will.

I enjoy watching many of my buddies such as, Gizmo, Misaki, Will and Eko,  Max,  Bunny, Roxy and Torrey,( heck even EASY!, ) and so many more, grab life by the tail and go for the gusto!  They lead fun lives and  enjoy themselves every step of the way!  There are many more of you who have fun and I see that, but there are too many to list here!

I know Mom is frustrated with my couch-potato-esque type of life, so last week I thought I would give her a little thrill and allow she and Dad to take me to a park that Mom found that actually allows DOGS!  Trust me, in the part of  Michigan that I call home, picturesque parks that ALLOW DOGS are a rarity indeed!

We jumped into Mom’s Honda Fit ( which for many of you who will meet her at BlogPaws,  when you see Mom and her UNFIT SELF, it will strike you as amusing that the word “FIT” is the model of her car, but I digress), I got behind the wheel and we were ready to roll!

The photos below give you some idea of the great time that we had!

The park was soooo delightfully peaceful!

I even walked for a bit!

With GEESE (my arch nemeses) AROUND NO LESS!

There was ONE slight problem though

After seeing this photo:

A few of you  left comments voicing concern

about whether or not I have a driver’s license.

I laughed with care-free Sheltie abandon

while reading of your concerns!

I eagerly started digging under my mane to pull out my license

and noticed THIS:

Look closely, what do you see?

Dakota drivers license

My license that was made on MYPETDMV

had EXPIRED ON 2-20-13!!!

A few months ago I had been contacted by My Color ID offering to make me yet ANOTHER driver’s license, I did, but GUESS WHAT? Dad had that  license in his wallet,  which was NOT with him! It was at HOME!

Lucky for me, when I put my paws to the metal, all the officers in my area must have been on a donut break!  I high-tailed it home in a flash and they were none the wiser!!!

Now, how is THAT for some mischief?

Roxy Doggie Necklace

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Back in January our friends at one of our favorite blogs,  Roxy The Traveling Dog, had a give-away where you could win one of the beautiful, handmade, beaded “necklaces” that Roxy wears.

Mom entered the give-away, and was lucky enough to be one of  the two winners! Do you believe that Mom had the nerve to ask Roxy’s Mom if she could have her prize made  as a BRACELET  for  her? What nerve! Mom’s  reasoning was that my “mane’ is so long that if I wore a beautiful collar/necklace like that it would never be seen, and my kitty brother, Cody, who it WOULD fit, doesn’t wear collars.

Roxy’s Mom was kind enough to make Mom her own bracelet and Mom couldn’t have been more excited when it arrived!

Along with the bracelet that Mom adores, she  received  a lovely note from Roxy and Torrey’s Mom as well as some of their beautiful business cards. (Ignore the notepad with the coffee mug stain that Mom put the bracelet on, geeze!) Here is a better shot of how beautiful the bracelet is!

Desert Raven Art

Back in October my Mom entered a give-away on a wonderful blog called Desert Raven Art.  The give-away was for a beautiful beaded bracelet, and guess what?

Mom WON!

She was so excited!

Isn't it beautiful!? Mom got a lovely note from Mary as well!

Mom thinks the bracelet is colorful, unique and is a  special piece  that she will always cherish!

Part of what makes it even more special is that Mary Hone (the artist behind Desert Raven Art)  is a member of Art For Critters.

What does that mean?

I’ll let Mary tell you from her own website because she can explain it best!

“Being a member of Art for Critters, means I can help an animal organization through selling my art. There are several organizations that Art for Critters helps, and one of them is Almost Heaven Golden retriever rescue.

I am going to donate 15% of the total sales for November and December,  from theTrade bead jewelry, Bison leather bags and the Stone Spirits to Almost Heaven.

So please help me help them. Almost Heaven is a sanctuary for Goldens that due to age or health issues are considered unadoptable. Almost Heaven helps them to find a forever home, or if that isn’t possible they stay at the sanctuary. To learn more about Almost Heaven, please click the link above.”

Mom and I think that is truly special and generous of Mary to do that!

Mary also has another great blog that we follow called Roxy The Traveling Dog

Mom says THANK YOU Mary for her beautiful bracelet and for all that you do for the “Goldens”

Give  Roxy a special “hello” from Mom and Dakota!
