Fun Friday! Versatile Blogger Award

Mom and I were sitting reading blogs yesterday and were delighted and flattered to learn that we had been given the:

We received this award from a blog that we recently started following:

Hey…It’s Jet Here

That’s Jet in the photo!! If you click on the photo it should take you to his blog!

Mom and I first discovered Jet when we noticed comments he was leaving on other blogs (see? It pays to read comments that people leave on OTHER blogs too, you can meet some super nice new friends that way!).

We liked Jet’s friendliness and chatty style and decided that this was a dog we would love to have in our pack!

Mom and I visited his blog and read his first post and instantly fell in love. When we read this passage we were hooked:

“Mom gave me a forever home in October 2008 after Golden Rescue South Florida saved my life with FOUR days to spare.  I can’t even discuss my life before this because it hurts.”

….you can read the rest of Jet’s first post right here!

We are honored that such a special doggy thinks highly of us well, ME, I just dictate to Mom like Jet does! I will even forgive him for thinking  that I was a GIRL,  when I am really a BOY!!! BOL!! Probably cause I am too “pretty” to be a BOY!

Our blog is only a little over a year old,  we don’t have a lot of followers like my brother Cody does on Cat Chat, heck, it isn’t even  BlogPaws Nose-to-nose award-worthy,  well frankly, neither of Mom’s blogs seem to be, but I digress…. Mom and I are dedicated to writing it because we have discovered that the doggy bloggers  are some of the most loyal and warm-hearted bloggers on the Planet!! Each and every one of you have wrapped your paws around us like a warm blanket and have accepted us into YOUR pack!  You have been encouraging, hilariously funny, supportive and GENUINE.

Just like your doggies.

That means A LOT.

We thank YOU.

we thank JET for giving us this award and for being our new friend!

One of the requirements of this award is  that  we thank the person  doggy who presented it to us,  (done!!),  lick  link to the person  doggy’s blog (done!!),   then  pass it on to 15 other deserving blogs.

Yep, you know what Mom and I are going to say. We can’t pick just 15 so we want ALL OF YOU TO HAVE THIS. Like we always say, if we follow you, you’re award-worthy!!!!

Thanks for being our furriends!

Our Buddy Bullet Is Having a Birthday! “Wordy” Wednesday

I am so excited! One of my favorite doggy friends in the blog-o-sphere is having a birthday on Thursday! His name is Bullet and he is one of the cutest Chihuahuas that I know!

Isn’t he adorable? Photo Courtesy of Colleen Richman on Facebook

His Mommy writes the popular blog CRichman Freebies where she features product reviews,  stories about Bullet, and she has some FANTASTIC give-aways!

Isn’t Bullet’s Mommy beautiful? Photo Courtesy of Colleen Richman on Facebook

My Mom has been super lucky and has won a number of her give-aways.

The latest one was a Personalized Carved Night Light made by Light Affection.

Guess whose photo Mom had them carve for the light? Well of course, it was ME!!

Unfortunately when Mom tried to take a picture of it, it didn’t turn out well, because Mom was using her Android Phone, but the photo below from their website gives you an idea of what it looks like.

To fully appreciate it you have to see it in person! It is fabulous! You can read about the process of making this light right here.

In honor of Bullet’s birthday his Mom is having huge give-aways!

So stop on over, wish Bullet a Happy Birthday, give him a paw-shake, and go ahead and enter to win some great prizes! While you’re at it,  tell him Dakota sent ya!!

Friday Find! Meet Julie Lancaster of “Off The Cuff Stuff For Pets”

Julie and one of her Mi-ki-s "Jet"

Hi everyone! This is Dakota and I am pleased to introduce you to a new friend of mine. Meet Julie Lancaster, the creator,  owner and brilliant designer  of  Off The Cuff Stuff For Pets a site that features one-of-a-kind, handmade -by- Julie accessories and clothes for pets!

Julie is a dear friend of my bonus daughter, Marla, and it was Marla who first brought Julie’s superbly crafted items to my attention. I was so intrigued by her talent that I wanted to not only learn more about her, but to share her items with all of you!

Julie spent many years working in a tedious office job and knew that this was not how she should be spending her life.  She is highly creative, zany, seriously gifted in the arts (she  has extensive experience working  with textiles and has painted many   murals) and decided that she must spend her life away from the boring office environment and pursue her true calling,  that of being an Artist.  Having artistic talents in a myriad of areas,  Julie’s quandary was what would she create, how would she channel her gift?

Along with being an artist, Julie is also a dog lover, specifically the adorable Mi-ki breed.  (Not familiar with Mi-ki’s? You can read about them here.)  Julie began breeding Mi-kis (her website is www.mikilover.com) and decided she needed a sling to carry her tiny dogs in to make them feel safe and secure when visiting the vet. Her slings would enable her to keep their tiny paws off of the vet floor as well, thereby avoiding picking up any germs. She wanted it to be fashionable and comfortable, hence the birth of the Bling Bling Sling.

Julie also makes harnesses, coats and a bevy of other items. She takes great pride in the fact that all of her items are one-of-a-kind.  She is ecstatic to be  utilizing her  background and talents  as a seamstress and  artist, as well as her  experience in working with textiles, doing work that satisfies her soul.  Her work is superior quality and she works closely with her customers to be sure that their piece will not only be unique, and reflect their individual personalities,  but  that the finished product is a true work of art!

"Crimson Queen" Dress

Julie cares about the environment as well! Almost all of Julie’s items are made from recycled materials that she finds at Estate/Yard sales. She uses everything from old prom dresses to wedding dresses. She says that by using recycled materials she is able to keep her cost down and in her words “if you take from the Earth, give back”.

Sunday is Earth Day  and by using recycled materials Julie is truly helping to preserve our environment.

If you are interested in having Julie make YOU a one-of-a-kind creation there are a variety of ways you can reach her. You can find her on Facebook, you may visit her website,  and you can reach her via email: julie@offthecuffstuffforpets.com

Dazzling Dreams

I hope that you have enjoyed meeting Julie and seeing just a few of her gorgeous items, as much as I enjoyed introducing her to you!

Please Help Our Friends At Nipandbones.com

Hi everyone!

We wanted to join other bloggers and spread the word that our friends over at www.nipandbones.com are in danger of having to close their amazing website and we don’t want that to happen.

My Mom has pawchased a few things from them in the past and I have even tested a few, and we think they sell high quality merchandise and should stay in business!

Won’t you stop by and check them out? I am sure you will find SOMETHING for the special doggie or kitty in YOUR life!

Here is a video of one of the items that Mom pawchased for me there! They have all sorts of stuff! Please go and check them out! THANK YOU!!

Be Still My Heart!!

To those of you who regularly read my blog, you know that I have been quite vocal in barking broadcasting my love for a gorgeous Sheltie princess who lives in Malaysia, Eva. She also has her own blog, which you may visit here

In case you missed my Wordless Wednesday post about Eva, you may click here

Yesterday morning I had the surprise of my life when my Mom told me that the beautiful Eva had responded!!! Not only had she responded, but she responded via video so that I might revel in her amazing beauty!!!

Here is the video  Eva made, just for ME!!  Not only is she beautiful, but she performs her tricks so delightfully! She is brilliant! Brains AND beauty! The total package!

Eva is so stunningly beautiful that seeing this video made me long to be with her that much more.  She needs me to help her carry her toys  (even if they ARE pink! I am manly enough to handle that!)  Does anyone know how a Sheltie would go about getting a passport?

Long-distance love is such a trial!

My Cousins And Aunt Nancy

This  is a photo of my cousins who live in Florida.  The photo was  taken by my Aunt Nancy.  Mom touched it up in Picnik. Doesn’t it look cool? The kitty at the top is “Jennifer”, the middle kitty is “Rosie” and the doggy is their new puppy named “Max”. Aunt Nancy also has a kitty named Oscar and another doggy that looks just like Max whose name is Molly!!!!

This is a photo of me and my Aunt Nancy

that was taken a couple of years ago

when she visited me in Michigan.

Yesterday was Aunt Nancy’s birthday,

this is my card to her!

Hope you had a great day!
