On June 5, PetSafe will announce the finalist communities that will continue “barking” for their park by voting daily on www.petsafe.net and PetSafe’s Facebook page. The finalist city with the most votes will be named the “top dog” and win a $100,000 PetSafe dog park, and four additional pet-passionate finalist cities will receive $25,000 to put toward their local dog park plans. “Bark for Your Park” contest winners will be announced on July 31.

In full disclosure: Dakota and I were not compensated for this post. We met representatives from PetSafe at BlogPaws 2013 who emailed this information to us and asked if we would share it. Because we think this is a GREAT contest, we agreed to do so!! Hurry and enter and we wish you the BEST of luck!

  1. Bark for your park – I love that phrase! I think it’s stuck in my head now just like a song is sometimes.

  2. Great post. Mom put in our city but we are not good at contests, way too stressy, as some people really go all out to win and that is just not us. I don’t think we have a chance but we sure are going to be happy for the winner! What a wonderful thing!

  3. What a great idea.
What city couldn’t use a dog park?

  4. What a wonderful contest. Ocean Springs could certainly use a dog park.

  5. What a great contest. Everyone needs a park! Lee and Phod

  6. Thanks! Need to look into this!

  7. This is awesome – thanks for sharing. Hope Eko can convince them that Chicago is the place!

    • OMG PLEASE ENTER!! If ANYONE can convince them, YOU CAN!

  8. Very cool! Sharing.

  9. What a cool idea! Wish we could nominate my village too – that would be great … and we had at least one place of interest here:o) Have a great friday

  10. Not much of a dog community around here…still mostly groves and farm dogs..It is a fantastic opportunity for an area with a strong dog owner population

  11. What a great idea. Cities really need dog parks! I often wonder how I would get my dogs exercised if I lived in a city. I guess they would adapt, but they would be so much happier if they had somewhere to run free (although, I’m not so sure Oreo would like having to actually share the park!).

  12. Great idea! I wonder how much a few acres and a pond would cost? lol

  13. Bark for you park is a great idea. We have quite a few really great dog parks in our city. We are very lucky that places around feel that they are very important 🙂

  14. What a great idea.

    Sheba.

  15. That’s a great idea for American cities. One thing I notice when I’m surfing about blogville is that in America there are a lot less parks. Here in Aberdeen we have 6 main parks and lots of smaller gardeny parks!
    Have a super week,
    Pippa 🙂

  16. We have a dog park, but we think every dog should.

  17. This sounds great. Do you mind if I re-post it on Pet Blogs United on Tuesday, linking back to you as the original writer?

    • Actually the woman who sent it to me is the original writer. I am sure PetSafe won’t mind a bit.

      • Great thanks! Happy Memorial Day!

  18. I submitted our town for a park, but now I’m voting for East Rockway NY, they lost their park to hurricane Sandy.
