  1. Beloved rescued a Sheltie once. Not from a home, but when she and her beloved bought their second home the cat and dog were going to be euthanised by the owners who were going overseas.
They took them both and gave the Sheltie, who had been beaten and badly treated, a good home until she died of a brain tumour three years later. The brain tumour was as a result of violence.
At least she had some good times….
    Great work.

    • OMG Zac! This is Dakota’s Mom. My mouth fell open when I read about owners who were going to euthanize their cat and dog just because they were going overseas????!!!! WHAT!!?? OMG! That is complete insanity! Oh dear God….the story you told about that Sheltie has me crying. Horrific. I just can’t bear people like this. ((((hugs)))) “Mom”

  2. Oh, I’m sorry, I could only watch half that video…was in tears seeing those poor little dogs..and I had just put my make-up on 😦
I think it’s terrible..people getting dogs then abusing them. I look at Mollie and think , how could any one ever hurt you…..
Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing that with us..and opening a lot of peoples eye’s to the real horrible world.

    • Mollie I completely understand. Mom got the same way when she watched it 😦 mom is sorry she shared something so sad but she thought it was impawtant. Thanks for appreciating that! Barks and licks and much love, Dakota and Mom

  3. Dear Dakota,

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video, it is so touching and beautiful!

We completely agree that all shelties do deserve to live better, are loved and cared properly. It is so lovely to know that there are so many people who help and rescue the unfortunate shelties and give them a second chance. Kudos to all them.

Thank you again for spreading the words and I hope more and more shelties live like YOU and ME!!!

    • Oh my darling Eva I couldn’t have said it better. I hope for the same! Barks and licks and love, Dakota

  6. ok, Mom read one of the comments about crying watching the video…and she has had enough tears for the last two days…her eyes are still red and puffy…but…we hope Sheltie rescue across the USA works with Pilots N Paws to move those doggies around to reach new homes. Paw pats, Savannah

    • Hi Savannah…and for those that are nearby too!! Barks and licks and love, Dakota

  7. Hi Dakota.

Good video what i saw of it, i could only watch half of it though sorry. It brought back to many bad memories of when I’ve worked in rescue centres in the past. If people can’t look after there pets why get them in the first place.

    Your pal Sheba.

    • Hi Sheba, we understand and AGREE completely! Barks and licks and love, Dakota and “Mom”

  8. Hi Dakota,

Thanks for sharing the video, even though it’s so sad it’s such an important message to get out there – I’ve got my paws crossed for all the Doggies, they all deserve wonderful forever homes 🙂

    Wags to all,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

    • Hi Snoopy!! You are welcome and thank you! We know it was sad but thank you for realizing how important it is! Barks and licks and love, Dakota

  9. Mom couldn’t watch the video…she was afraid she would never stop crying:( We’ve had a rough week around here and we are all trying not to cry anymore! We hope and pray that there will be a day when every doggy will have a home and will be loved like we are. Is that too much to ask for?

    • Dogs N Pawz we completely understand ((((hugs))))) Barks and licks and love, Dakota
